Breast Lift

General Summary

A breast lift or mastopexy is a surgery which is done for women who desire to have perky breasts with their nipples lifted.  After pregnancy, breast feeding, a major weight loss, or the gravity affects of normal aging the breast loses its youthful fullness and the nipples fall to the lower portion of the breast.

Board certified cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Lee, performs this common procedure to move the nipple to the center of the breast and help patients achieve the round, full beautiful breasts. Want to schedule a mastopexy consultation, have a question, or need help with financing? Contact us today!

1. Consultation and Planning

When you come to a consultation at New Life Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Lee will examine you and determine if you are a candidate for a breast lift surgery.  He will discuss how a breast lift (mastopexy) is done and where the scars will be.  If you desire larger breasts or more fullness on top (upper pole), you may want to have a breast augmentation or fat transfer at the same time.

2. Procedure

Breast lift surgery is done at New Life Cosmetic Surgery Center.  You will arrive at the office in the morning and be home in the early afternoon.  They are always done with IV conscious sedation and NOT general anesthesia.  Thus you will sleep through the entire procedure but be breathing on your own.  You do not need to be intubated.

3. Recovery

During the first few days your breast are sore and there is usually only mild discomfort.  This is very well tolerated with the pain medication that is prescribed. It will be important to wear appropriate supportive bra, which we will discuss prior to the surgery.  The breast will be initially swollen but that resolves over the first month.  Before you know it, you will have perky, soft, natural appearing breasts and look great in and out of clothes.

Dr. Lee sees all the patients the next day after surgery. He will remove the bandages and you can shower after these bandages have been removed. You should not lift anything over 5 pounds in the first 2 weeks of recovery. However most patients return to work within 1 week, especially if they have light duty at work. Remember everyone heals at different time intervals.  Important factors are nutrition and not smoking. We will be there with you to help you recover as quickly as possible.

4. Results

After a breast lift, you will enjoy soft and lift breast which will fit into your bra, clothes, and bathing suit better.  A breast lift will give you confidence in how you look both in and out of clothes.  Individual results will vary.  Dr. Lee spends time during the preoperative consultation to discuss the results to expect given your unique breast tissue and breast framework prior to the surgery.
