FAQ
What is semaglutide?
Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications called GL (same class as Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy). Semaglutide slows down the digestive process, making you feel full longer and will also suppress appetite.
Are peptides covered by insurance?
Peptides are not covered by insurance. At New Life, we do not accept any form of insurance.
Where should I inject the peptides?
The peptides should be injected subcutaneously (in the fatty tissue, underneath the skin) most commonly on the abdomen, buttocks, outer thigh or arm.
Where should I store the peptides?
We recommend peptides to be refrigerated.
What are the most common side effects of semaglutide?
Nausea, constipation and fatigue are common side effects.
What can I do if I am nauseated?
Pay attention to what you are eating. The nausea may be due to overeating or the consumption of greasier/fattier foods or foods that are harder to digest (flour, red meat). Drink plenty of water. If excessive, please call us and we can send a prescription for nausea medication.
I already struggle from constipation. Should I use semaglutide?
It is still safe to use semaglutide but it may worsen your constipation due to how the medication works. Ensure you are consuming enough fruits, vegetables and water. If you are still struggling, consider taking an OTC stool softener (ie. Colace) or laxative (ie. Miralax).
What if I get a rash to the site of the injection?
This may be a local reaction to the medication. Usually these injection site reactions will go away on their own. If they don’t or they worsen, please stop medication and let us know if you have other questions.
My weight has not decreased as much as I anticipated. Are the peptides not working anymore?
There are multiple reasons why your weight may stall during the weight loss journey. Here are some tips: Ensure you are consuming enough calories. (ie. Eat small meals throughout the day) Prioritize protein at every meal. It is recommended you consume 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of weight (ie. If you weigh 165 pounds, or 75 kilos, you should consume 60 grams of protein a day). Avoid processed foods. Try keeping your dinner carbless. Consume carbs for breakfast and lunch only. Pay attention to portions. You may be overeating per meal. Drink plenty of water. It is normal for your weight to fluctuate daily due to water retention (Ladies, this may worsen during your menstrual cycle.).
What can I drink while on peptides?
You can drink water, coffee, and unsweet tea. An occasional “diet” or “sugar-free” drink is fine. A great milk alternative is almond milk. We recommend staying away from juice, wine, beer, soda and any other high sugar-high calorie drinks.
When should I increase the dose of semaglutide?
If you feel the medication is “wearing off” (ie. You are wanting to overeat or cravings return) then you may titrate to the next dose. A higher dose does not necessarily mean faster weight loss.
