Rather than adding volume, Dr. Lee removes excess skin and tightens the surrounding tissue to lift and contour the area. This procedure is often performed as part of a lower body lift, especially after significant weight loss, pregnancy, or other factors result in physical changes. A butt lift is different from a Brazilian Butt Lift, which adds volume to the buttocks via fat transfer.

Preparation

Dr. Lee will provide pre-operative instructions to help you prepare for your procedure. It is important that each instruction is followed to ensure a safe procedure and quick recovery.

Procedure

During the procedure, Dr. Lee will excise sagging and loose skin from around the buttocks. ⁽³⁾ He will make discreet incisions, typically along the upper part of the buttocks, just below the lower back. In some cases, the incision may extend across the lower back or be incorporated into a lower body lift, depending on the amount and location of excess skin. If needed, Dr. Lee may also perform liposuction to further sculpt the area. Once he achieves your ideal aesthetic, he will close the incisions, and you will rest while monitored by the New Life team until you are ready to be released.

Recovery

For the best outcomes, we ask that you follow the personalized recovery instructions provided to you. During your initial recovery, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising, or mild tenderness at the treatment site. These effects will subside on their own, but may also be managed using pain medications. Our team will also give you a compression garment to wear as you heal. This garment can help minimize swelling, protect the treated area, and support the new shape of your buttocks. You should avoid sitting or putting any pressure on the treatment area as you heal. Our team will show you ways to rest comfortably and use special sitting pillows during your consultation.
