About EZ Gel

EZ Gel is an innovative injectable that is composed of the natural cellular components found within your blood. This treatment can be used to help enhance facial volume and revitalize the skin.

As you age, the levels of collagen and elastin in your skin start to decline. This can lead to the development of wrinkles, creases, fine lines, and volume loss, which can create a sunken, tired, and aged look. (1) EZ Gel aims to combat this by potentially stimulating the production of collagen in targeted areas of your face to improve its appearance, elasticity, and overall health.

About Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a concentrated solution derived from your blood. PRF is made by taking a small sample of your blood and processing it to separate certain components of your blood. (2) When PRF is injected into the skin, it is thought to do several things that improve the health and appearance of your skin. For example, PRF is thought to slowly release growth factors into your skin to stimulate collagen production, maintain the skin’s structure, improve your skin texture, increase the blood supply to the area, and support tissue repair. While still considered an emerging procedure, PRF may offer a natural approach for revitalizing your appearance without the use of synthetic fillers or other artificial materials.

Benefits

EZ Gel is associated with several advantages in non-surgical facial rejuvenation. With the expertise of the New Life team, patients might benefit through:

  • Natural-Looking Results: Because EZ Gel is derived from your own blood, the results are thought to look and feel organic.
  • Minimal Downtime: Unlike surgical procedures, EZ Gel offers a quicker recovery. Most patients can return to their daily routines within several hours.
  • Volume Restoration: By stimulating the repair process, EZ Gel might restore lost volume to the areas that need it.
  • Collagen Stimulation: The PRF found in EZ Gel might stimulate the production of collagen in your skin. This would provide continuous improvements that contribute to its appearance, health, and elasticity.
  • Versatility: EZ Gel is used with the goal of enhancing several different areas of the face, such as the cheeks or lips.
  • High Safety Profile: This treatment is a biocompatible treatment that uses the components of your own blood, which means that the risk of allergic reactions is reduced.

Candidates

Candidates for EZ Gel include anyone interested in enhancing and/or restoring their facial volume. This treatment is often recommended to patients who want to address signs of premature aging, such as fine lines or wrinkles. Patients seeking EZ Gel or other injections are usually more interested in non-surgical rejuvenation rather than invasive treatments.

Each candidate should be in good general health and hold realistic expectations regarding their results. Our nurse injector will determine each patient’s eligibility for EZ Gel during their consultation.

Personal Consultation

The first step to rejuvenating your appearance is attending a personal consultation at either our McAllen or Boerne office. During this consultation, a nurse injector will meet with you to explain what EZ Gel is and what the treatment consists of. They will converse with you about your medical history, current prescriptions, areas of concern, and your ideal results. The nurse injector will also evaluate your facial structure, as well as the quality and condition of your skin.

The details shared throughout your consultation will be used to determine your candidacy and craft your treatment plan. Our team may also suggest additional treatments based on your goals to help you further achieve the appearance you desire.

Preparation

To prepare for an EZ Gel treatment, you will need to follow the personalized instructions provided to you by the nurse injector.

You may be asked to stop taking medications and supplements with blood-thinning properties. Nicotine and alcohol use should be stopped several weeks ahead of time, and you should be staying properly hydrated and eating nutritious meals. You will also need to ensure you are wearing proper skin protection when leaving the house, as any sun damage to your skin may result in your appointment being rescheduled.

Procedure

At the beginning of your treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and a small sample of blood will be drawn from your arm. The sample of blood is processed to separate the PRF from the other components. The concentrated serum is then heated for several minutes to create the gel-like consistency. (3)

The nurse injector will use a fine needle to administer the solution beneath the skin, targeting the predetermined areas of the face experiencing volume loss or other signs of premature aging. Each treatment session may vary in duration, but EZ Gel injections typically take less than one hour.

Recovery

After your treatment, you will be able to return home or resume your routine immediately. You may experience mild swelling or bruising in the treatment area and injection sites, but these effects are temporary and typically subside within several days. During this time, you should refrain from touching, massaging, or putting pressure on your face. Physical activities should also be avoided temporarily. Our nurse injector will provide you with further information during your consultation.

Results

EZ Gel New Life Cosmetic Surgery & Medspa Dr. Daniel Lee

The results of your EZ Gel treatment are gradual, which means you will be able to see your skin continuously improve over time as your collagen and elastin levels are raised. Your skin will look and feel smoother as signs of premature aging are reduced and softened. The enhanced collagen levels will also improve your skin’s firmness and elasticity. The results from this treatment are long-lasting, with many patients experiencing results ranging from several months to a year.

Corresponding Procedures

Several treatments can be performed in conjunction with EZ Gel for more comprehensive results, with one of the more popular options being Botox.

Botox is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that helps restore a more youthful-looking appearance by softening the appearance of certain wrinkles. When administered beneath the skin, Botox prevents specific facial muscles from contracting. This softens the appearance of existing wrinkles and, if injections are received regularly, may prevent new ones from forming.
