It can be disheartening putting years of work into your body and your healthy lifestyle and still not seeing the muscle definition or body contour you had always hoped for.

You know you are doing everything in your power to reach that final milestone, but your body just won’t budge! How frustrating!

Thank goodness there’s another solution: VASER Liposuction!

VASER Liposuction is a type of liposuction that uses ultrasound waves to break apart fat deposits and loosen them from your deeper tissues, making removal much easier.

In case you were wondering, VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. In other words, we are using sound waves to liquefy fat deposits, which are then removed using suction (liposuction.)

Patients – both men and women – typically opt to receive this procedure on areas such as the arms, chest, chin and neck, upper back, waistline and stomach, hips and thighs, and buttocks.

Approximately 250,000 patients received VASER Liposuction in 2018 in the United States.

But why did they choose VASER Liposuction over other Liposuction procedures?

VASER LIPOSUCTION IS A PRECISE, BUT GENTLE BODY CONTOURING PROCEDURE THAT HELPS HEALTHY PEOPLE FINALLY REACH THEIR DREAM BODY GOALS.

Here’s the kicker: you’ve done all of the hard work to help achieve your ideal body.

You’ve made it this far because of your commitment to consistent physical activity combined with a balanced diet and an undying determination to succeed! **Give yourself a pat on the back! You are responsible for your success and you should be proud! We’re just here to help you take that final step towards your dream body.

1. What’s the difference between VASER Liposuction and other Liposuction procedures?

All liposuction procedures have the same goal in mind: help the patient surpass that final milestone (those last 10 or 15 pounds, increased muscle definition).

And while the general process for all liposuction procedures is similar, VASER Liposuction stands apart for quite a few reasons.

  • VASER Liposuction is considered to be a more precise form of liposuction because the surgeon can target specific areas of your body that you want increased definition in.
  • VASER Liposuction causes less damage to surrounding tissues because of its ability to essentially “liquify” fat deposits, making them easier to remove. This liquefaction of fat makes for a smoother and more sculpted result.
  • It can also help tighten skin and reduce cellulite.

2. Who should consider getting VASER Liposuction?

If you’re still reading this, then you are already committed to long-term health and wellness (physical activity and a well-balanced diet) and you’re within reach of your body goals.

You understand that VASER Liposuction is not a weight-loss tool, and instead, a body contouring tool. Cosmetic or plastic surgery of any kind is not your first resort. You should explore natural alternatives first, such as different workouts, diets, or other causes of your inability to reach that final milestone. Any surgery involves several risks, so this decision should not be taken lightly.

You’re happy with where you are and have been trying to finally shed that last 10 or 15 pounds or tone your body up just a bit more. Regardless of what you try, nothing seems to push you past that last milestone.

Even after surgery, you are committed and eager to maintain your healthy lifestyle. You have relatively tight skin and aren’t on any conflicting medications and don’t smoke.

3. What does the VASER Liposuction procedure involve?

If you think you might be a good candidate for this procedure and have already considered the pros and cons of cosmetic surgery, then your next step might be scheduling a consultation.

In your consultation, Dr. Lee will assess your problem areas and ask you a series of questions to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for VASER Liposuction and if other options might work better for you.

We ask that you notify us of any medications you are on or any conditions you have. Some medications (like ibuprofen or other blood thinners, for example) can increase your risk for excessive bleeding. You should also try to avoid drinking alcohol at least 24 hours before your procedure. Check out our FAQ page for more pre-op recommendations.

During the Procedure

Throughout the procedure, you’ll be sedated using IV conscious sedation anesthesia, which essentially puts you to sleep during the procedure but allows you to continue breathing on your own. This is similar to what you can expect if you were to get a tooth extracted by your dentist. At New Life, you can expect to undergo this kind of sedation with most procedures because it is a safer and less invasive option.

General anesthesia is not necessarily harmful to you (it may be required in some cases) but if Dr. Lee’s wife were undergoing a medical procedure, he would definitely choose IV conscious sedation over general anesthesia.

After the Procedure

After the procedure, you should expect bruising, swelling, and reasonable pain and discomfort. You should only expect to take 3 to 5 days off of work after this procedure unless your job involves more physical effort.

You’ll need to take care of your incisions after surgery for an average of 6 weeks while your wounds heal. We also recommend wearing compression garments to help reduce swelling.

You should try to have someone with you after surgery to help take care of you, but if you don’t we can connect you to one of our trusted nursing care providers.

You’ll see clear results immediately after the procedure, but you won’t notice drastic results until at least 3 to 6 months post-surgery.

Results can be permanent if you maintain a healthy lifestyle through consistent physical activity and a balanced diet. This procedure won’t prevent changes in your body if you don’t commit to your health and wellness.

4. What does VASER Liposuction cost?

It’s important to consider that VASER Liposuction is considered an elective cosmetic procedure. This means that your insurance won’t cover it.

You’ll be personally responsible for the cost of the procedure (between $4,000 and $8,000), medication, post-op drainage massages, and any time you have to take off work for recovery. We’ll be able to give you a more exact quote after your consultation.

At New Life Cosmetic Surgery, we understand that this isn’t attainable for every candidate and want to be able to provide these transformative services for all of our patients, which is why we offer Care Credit Financing and payment plans that allow you to continue paying after surgery. If you have questions about our financing options, be sure to bring it up in your consultation session!

5. What are some actual results you’ve seen from VASER Liposuction?

It’s important to understand that results will vary based on your body and your needs, but we are incredibly confident in the effects this surgery produces.
